Shelley Korch is an experienced arbitrator and mediator who has addressed issues related to the interpretation of collective bargaining agreements, subcontracting, independent contractors, disparate treatment, discipline and discharge. She has worked with clients engaged in manufacturing, transportation, health care, administrative services, labor organizations and public employers, including law enforcement and the military. At hearings, she supports the development of a complete record, where all parties have full opportunity to present evidence and argument. She is considerate of the ongoing nature of the parties’ relationships, and is guided by the principles of honesty, integrity and impartiality in procedural and substantive matters.
In mediations, Ms. Korch uses a flexible approach guided by the situation and the interests of the participants, she uses facilitative and evaluative techniques. She has mediated situations involving whistle blowers, EEOC and ADA matters.
She has chaired tripartite arbitration panels for FINRA and the State of Maryland and welcomes opportunities to work with co-mediators.
During her employment with the National Labor Relations Board, she served as Investigator, Compliance Supervisor, Manager, Deputy to the Assistant General Counsel and Assistant to the General Counsel. She facilitated resolution of remedial issues posed by court and administrative orders, managed Regional Offices, developed strategic national labor relations policy initiatives and led national program committees on compliance issues, case management and the electronic case file. She has participated in national negotiations involving multi unit contracts.
Ms. Korch received her Bachelor’s degree in economics, summa cum laude from Tufts University and a Master’s degree in Administration from Johns Hopkins University.
